Through an initial discovery period, the 24 Digital team immersed themselves in understanding the global sports statistics market and where Champion Data are placed globally. Using inspiration from competitors such as Opta Sports, Namadgi, Neematic & Volleyball Australia, we went through a process of auditing existing content, card sorting, creating user personas and mapping their journeys through the new website.
Using design-thinking, the team dedicated time to defining customer needs with a goal to drive business outcomes & content prioritisation, working with the Champion Data team to rewrite their content to match customer profiles.
Champion Data were looking for dynamic content to provide insights into their number & statistics focussed data. 24 Digital used this as an opportunity to experiment with varying animation techniques including Green Sock to create amazing SVG animations. The result is a series of animations showcasing statistics and bringing to life the game through dynamic line movements.
In October 2019 we launched the updated Champion Data website and have seen the website statistics grow month on month since. Global awareness has increased with at least 1 in 4 users accessing the website from outside of Australia. Users progress through the site and end up on the contact page in 32% of users.
